Greetings! 


I’m a student of life and love to experiment, learn and grow. 


This can be seen in many spheres of my life so far. 10 Years ago, I stumbled upon outdoor education  and uncovered the power and love for wilderness & adventure. I had a strong urge to make this field my career and ever since then I’ve been fortunate enough to work over 100 weeks in this field and teach backpacking in different parts of the world to diverse populations. Working for one of the leaders in the outdoor industry, I’ve facilitated building positive working communities with an emphasis on awareness and communication. Leadership is a core subject and I’ve been teaching that in real environments which bring the true self out. 

This kind of work requires me to be fit all through the year. Initially, I started off with the practice of Yoga as it was easy to take anywhere and got me more than just fitness. I became more aware of my body and the range of motion I had and enjoyed spending that peaceful time with myself. After 2 years of Yoga and backpacking, I realised that I wasn’t getting stronger although I remained fit.  I thought of giving  strength training a try with much apprehension and very soon, I was a fan of it. I became stronger like never before and gained confidence in much more than just lifting weights. After every workout I could see my mood lifted too.

About two years ago, I changed my diet based on researched data. This opened up a can of worms for me that took a while to streamline and make sense of. This effort paid off when I started to see great changes in breaking previous plateaus, mood, endurance, recovery & energy levels. From the past one and half years, I have been experimenting with Fasting as part of my lifestyle. Consistent intermittent fasting and some bouts of prolonged fasting have been my latest personal achievements. With all this, I feel my body getting stronger as I age.

Amalgamating my passions of working with people, wilderness and fitness, I decided to share my past experiences and learning at Somarasa. I would like to contribute to facilitating healthier lives around me and bringing more awareness on creating better environments within and around us.
