When I was in school, I read an article in the paper headlined 'Man starts walking in the USA;
Reaches India after 4 years’.
This headline was my first exposure to the capabilities of the human body & mind. A small article with a photograph is all it took to run the gears in my head & start a lifelong journey in exploring the limits of human biology - something that I am following to this day.
At the age of fifteen, I decided that I would take my health in my own hands and live to be 125 years old. There was no solid reasoning as to why I chose that particular number, but it was what I decided at the time. At first, I didn't know how or even where to start. But time and study slowly opened the doors to longevity. Initially, I read about the famous Yogis who lived long & fulfilled lives, so I started learning Yoga by seeing pictures in books & going to some of the famous yoga schools in my hometown. Slowly, I started noticing the changes that followed in my body and mind. It was thrilling to see action leading to fruition.
After more than a decade of regular practice, I stumbled upon a few insights. Although yoga seemed to be the magical elixir at that time, I realised that it wasn’t adequate. There were elements in the Yogic practice that are tremendously helpful for one's well being, at the same time, there are crucial areas that the system overlooks. Thus, began another realm of search.
During this exploration, I experimented with Competitive swimming, martial arts, long distance cycling, endurance running, strength training, calisthenics, gymnastic training and I have been fortunate enough to understand the application & nuances of each of these. Over the years, I have developed an understanding of the needs of the diverse forms of exercise to gain a more holistic development of the body & mind.
Apart from physical culture, my journey led me to understanding the science of nutrition and herbalism; to the deep world of fasting, medicinal plants & fungi. Over the past few years, fortune has blessed me enough to come across knowledge on manipulating the hormones and minerals for one's benefit.
Analysis, observation and introspection have been my partners in education through the years so far. Along with this is the constant immersion into the timeless world of books & the latest science from the laboratories across the world.
I’m a strong believer of living life with appropriate challenges and have learnt much from it. I consider myself a lifelong student and try to live the examined life. Maintaining this perspective of introspection & observation for more than a decade and consistently experimenting on myself has been a good start. I have seen it transform my life and I have seen it transform others’. There is a great passion inside to spread this message of good health and fulfilment. I know that these learnings that I have accumulated over the past decades are highly beneficial for anyone with a human body - the nature of these learnings is such - foundational & fundamental in nature. I look forward to the coming decades to live more in accordance to nature, and share these learnings to whoever is willing to learn, so that the human condition moves away from the shackles of disease and exploitative medicine.
